Our first response to trials is to grumble and complain. We see them as unfair and undeserved. Sometimes we even blame God.
Our first response when good things happen is often to congratulate ourselves. We did something to deserve it.
We often look to God only to blame him for what is wrong in the world.
We forget to thank Him for all the blessings.
Without God, we can do nothing good in this world. It’s either by His common grace or His saving grace that any good exists in the world at all.
Let’s reverse this trend. We can glorify God with much praise and gratitude. And look to Him, when troubles come, as the hope that can get us through them.
He gave us a beautiful planet to live on. He gave us our lives.
And, while we were still sinners, He died so that we could have the opportunity to be spiritually born again.
God gave us hope for the future even while we’re still in the midst of the trials and tribulation of this present earth.
Our first response should be to glorify God, not blame Him.
You are so right we should praise God. We owe everything to Him. Especially our undeserved salvation. The air we breathe, our food, drink, clothing. Our friends. Our good health when we have it. His Sovereign care and watchful eye over us. And so much more. Psalm 103 covers so much more to be thankful for. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, praise His wonderful name. Jim Allis
