A new year is a new chance to write down your goals and also write down the steps you need to take in order to achieve them.
But…what if you’re discouraged because you didn’t stick with your goals and resolutions last year? What if you didn’t stuck with your resolutions the year before that either? And…the year before that?
When I am tempted to just forget the whole resolution thing, I force myself to remember that life is a journey and I’ve been changing every year that I’ve been alive.
Positive changes don’t always come as quickly as I’d like. And many times, I quit before I even have a chance to fail. But…mercies are not only new each January 1st. Mercies and new chances are new every single morning that I wake up. There can always be a new decision to change. Even when it’s a revamped one. I may not have seen the results yet but I’m looking at a new layer of the problem and therefore I’m closer to solving it.
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. ~ Lamentations 3:22-23
