Paul wanted the church at Laodicea to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. He wanted them to have complete confidence in God’s mysterious plan about Christ (Colossians 2).
Later, in Revelation 3, the church at Laodicea is accused of being lukewarm.
Maybe the cure for lukewarm living is to love wholeheartedly and trust in the cross of Christ.
Lukewarm living doesn’t help anybody. Dive in. Love God with your whole heart and then follow suit by loving your neighbors.
Hi Jennifer
Satan is hurling his fury at the Church right now and doing his utmost to turn people away from Christ. Since he could not prevent Christ coming into the world he is doing his utmost to keep the world coming to Christ.
Faith is at a very low ebb generally, Patience is being tried and found failing. Its not when is Christ returning but if He is returning.. The prayer life of the average Christian is minimal or non existent if the truth be known. Christ in love for his church is knocking at the door of every believers heart today . longing for fellowship (Revelation 3:20;) Many have accepted Jesus as Saviour to arrive in heaven safely but many also have kept him waiting at the periphery or even outside their heats not wanting His Lordship in their life. The world is icy cold outside of Christ but Christians are lukewarm.” Awake thou that sleepiest and Christ will give you light.” Jim Allis. .
