It’s been said that the only constant thing is change. Life is never going to be perfect. There will always be conflicts and disruptions. You can’t always be happy because happiness depends on circumstances.
Here is how I stay joyful and content.
Always stay soft and humble.
I humble myself under God’s mighty hand and at the right time He lifts me up in honor (1 Peter 5:6). He always brings what is meant to be. It is always good to remind myself that He is God and I am not. God is a good God and He gives much grace when I react in humble ways (James 4:6).
Learn something regularly.
I try to learn new things on a regular basis. It’s never been easier to learn new skills. There are videos and classes abundantly available all over the internet. Try SkillShare.
Most of all, I am always learning more about God’s love. Reading my bible regularly helps me to understand just how wide, long, high, and deep God’s love really is (Ephesians 3:18). God’s love will never ever run out.
Trust God even when I don’t see.
I can ask. I can pray. But I have to believe that God will give me what is best even when I don’t see results in the present. I have to trust that eventually I will reap what I sow because He is a good God. I can trust Him. The good God brings is usually much better than I can ask or think.
Think of others more often than myself.
I am always trying to grow in unselfishness. It’s not always easy but with God’s help, I can think of others as more important than myself. And in so doing, I also find that a lot of my needs are miraculously filled as well. God helps me as I help others.
The more I seek to have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had, the more I experience His joy. Though He was God, He didn’t seek to be treated as God. He came to serve others.
Serving others helps me to be full of joy.
