Each day is a crisp, white notebook paper page with thin blue lines. You can write whatever you want upon the page even though there are parameters. You may have to go to work at a specific place but you control your attitude while you are there. A large block of time may be carved out specifically for work you do for someone else but you can squeeze in little tidbits of activity just for you.
Three things that I tell myself at the dawning of each new day are:
- I’m thankful that I get this day. I woke up and I have another chance.
- Today is going to hold something good. No matter what circumstances I am in, I can find something good to see or learn.
- I can handle whatever comes my way today. I may have to change my perspective a bit. I may have to adjust my attitude. And…I may have to pray for strength. But…I can handle whatever happens.
Thinking this way starts my days with hope and that’s a great starting point.
