Based on Psalm 42
I long for God because I know that something is missing from me when I don’t seek Him. Some people look around the world and see all of the injustices and think there can’t be a God or He would do something. Other people look around the world and see some good and therefore conclude that we’re doing okay without a god at all. If there really were no God, the injustices would be unbearable and the good would be nonexistent.
However, when I seek my loving God, I see even more good in the world. He opens my eyes to joys unfathomable. Then I am able to give thanks and trust in His future—a future that is very bright. There’s no reason for the discouragement that seems to come so easily even when circumstances seem dire. There is a loving God who walks with me through difficult waters.
