But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. ~ James 1:22
How do I make the most of my belief in God? Do I do it by reading my bible and attending church? No. Although, I do read my bible and I do attend church. These things alone will not portray that I am a Christian.
I need to do some of the things that I learn from the bible and church. I need to help people. I need to encourage people. I need to forgive people. I need to love people.
Acting out my beliefs is how I portray them to others.
I don’t do this perfectly because I’m not perfect. I make many mistakes. Nevertheless, I seek to get back up again and keep on trying.
I seek to do the things that I feel called to do. I strive to help others and continually improve that ability.
In addition, what I do to help others will look different from what others do. There are many forms of helping and each person does a different aspect of that helping.
I want to do my best, admit it when I mess up, and always try to do more and more.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. ~ Colossians 3:23
Supporting the people around us makes for a job well done.
