It’s a good thing to wake up each morning and think about what’s good in your life. All too often, I get caught up in the day to day tasks and duties and sometimes forget to be thankful.
Start with the basics: Shelter, Clothes, Food.
Add in people: Family, Friends, Neighbors.
Then think about trials that you’ve come through in the past.
And then, think about hope for the future. The same God that brought you through things in the past will continue to help you in the future.
I want to be so different than I am. But due to certain circumstances that seem to be unchangeable at this time in my life I don’t know how . Even being a Christian. I am sixty seven years old and married. This is my second one. I was married at seventeen the first time. My husband was an alcoholic and after fifteen years and two precious sons it ended. I have been remarried thirty two years. My husband and I raised two of my son’s children and, from ages like two and three and a half. They are grown now, twenty eight and twenty six, almost twenty seven. I thank God for the opportunity. We had a Christian home and lots of love. It took a big toll on us financially. We had decided no more children. With my two teenage sons and his three teenage boys and one girl we knew we weren’t going to have a bed of roses. What we did have was a lot of love. As the years have gone by so quickly, I am lost with out a backup plan. I won’t even go into it. Just will say that where my first husband provided well and has prepared himself for the golden years, there never seemed to be enough for us to do the same. By the way he never remarried and never, nor did anyone else, help us raise ” our” grandchildren. So I suffer from depression and some medical problems that I contribute to not having any financial security. The only thing that keeps me from throwing in the towel, so to speak, is my faith and knowing that God can change anything in the blink of an eye. Thanks for listening, I guess it helps. Keep up your good work. And don’t ever be unprepared for the future. It’s here before you know it. God bless you in all you do for him.
