There is nothing magical or special about January 1. If you made some resolutions and have already stopped them, you can always begin again today. God’s mercies and second chances are new each and every morning!
If you felt strongly about changing something on December 31st, it’s worth continuing your pursuit now even if you’re starting over.
Continue to work hard at that thing you really want to do. If you stop, start over again as soon as possible. Eventually the struggle will give way to developing a good, strong habit. And then, many will see, notice, and compliment you on the obvious changes in your life.
You’re not alone. God is with you to help you as you go.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. ~ Ephesians 1:18-20 NLT
David’s Prayer of Praise
Then David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly:
“O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may you be praised forever and ever! Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! ~ 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Day 1 of Thanksgiving Week
Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.
~ 1 Chronicles 16:8-11 NLT
I desire to learn how to cultivate a life that is in line with how I was created.
So many things get in the way of planting generously. I don’t want to give in to those things.
I want to sow lots of seed so that I reap a generous crop and a fruitful life of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
I need God’s help to do this consistently.
It’s a good thing that He is always available to me!
